PlasticBusters Zero Waste Pledge

At PlasticBusters we are concerned about the amount of litter and pollution in our environment caused by plastic and other materials that end up discarded irresponsibly. We strongly believe that the best way of tackling the problem is by proactively changing our behaviours and doing our best to eradicate it, and this effort must involve not only ourselves as individuals but also public and private enterprises.

For this reason, we invite everyone to take the PlasticBusters Zero Waste Pledge, committing to do their best to:

1. Rethink their relationship with the materials they consume and discard

2. Refuse single-use plastics and items they do not truly need

3. Reduce their overall consumption and the waste they generate

4. Reuse items wherever possible instead of buying new

5. Repurpose materials creatively before discarding them

6. Recycle everything that can be recycled, separating waste appropriately

7. Rot — compost organic waste to close the loop and return nutrients to the earth

Since the initiative was launched in November 2020, over 1,000 individuals, businesses and organisations have taken the pledge. We are incredibly thankful to them for their support and commitment. The more we are, the greater impact we can make!

All participants receive a personalised Zero Waste Pledge certificate.
