8-Year-Old PlasticBuster Marlowe Wins Hidden Heroes Award

Our 8-year-old volunteer Marlowe Taylor Rispin has won the Manx Radio Hidden Heroes Award, sponsored by Shoprite, for his commitment and hard work supporting PlasticBusters in our effort to protect the environment.

The Award was presented by Jaime Amoedo, founder of PlasticBusters at the Henry Bloom Noble Primary School together with Christy DeHaven (Manx Radio), Marlow’s parents and Amanda Noble (Shoprite). In addition to the Award, he received a £100 voucher from Shoprite, a PlasticBusters hoodie & high-viz vest, and a bag full of goodies from Manx Radio!.

Jaime Amoedo said: “We are so proud of Marlowe, he is an incredible kid! He has been participating on a regular basis in PlasticBusters clean up activities and his enthusiasm, passion and hard work to keep our Island clean and our biosphere protected is amazing. He is a true role model for others to do their bit for the environment. Aside from his participation in group activities, he has signed up to the AdoptTheWorld initiative adopting Derby Square in Douglas and takes care of it on a regular basis!”

Ms. Lauren Ellison, Marlowe’s teacher, added: “Marlow is a superstar, a very hard worker. He likes keeping himself busy and is always helping in class. No surprise that he likes doing the PlasticBuster, he is a top level boy!”

PlasticBusters is an award-wining registered charity with over 4,000 volunteers in 110 countries. Please follow this link if you would like to join the award-winning AdoptTheWold initiative to adopt a place (a road, a beach, a park, a reef, an island, a forest… you name it!) and pledge to maintain it litter free.
